2015: a few testimonies |
Judges
7:6-7 (NIV):
6 Three
hundred of them drank from cupped hands, lapping like dogs. All the rest got
down on their knees to drink.
7 The
Lord said to Gideon, “With the three hundred men that lapped I will save you
and give the Midianites into your hands. Let all the others go home.”
Happy New Year
Everyone! This post is mainly one of gratitude and complete appreciation to the
LORD for His faithfulness. I also want to talk about moving forward into your
blessings. As we enter 2016, I want you to consider your life, the blessings
the LORD has graced you with, and allow yourself to experience the gratitude
that comes from contemplating on His enormous grace and mercy.
Today I want to
focus on embracing your destiny. Some people fall into the old habits of delay
and procrastination once the New Year fever has run off. I want to be
completely honest with you: to step into your blessings, to embrace the
anointing, there are some people the LORD will ask you to cut off, there are
some places He will take you out of, and there are some circumstances He will
speak to you specifically about.
This is why I
chose the passage above to describe this process to you all. The passage above
involves the story of Gideon which means “mighty warrior”-a whole study on its
own-and Gideon was called by the LORD to fight and defeat the Midianites who
had been plaguing the Israelites. But before he could do any of that, the LORD
told him to let some people go.
Now this is
where I want to hover: some of you, the LORD has told you to let some people
go! He has told you to walk away from certain people, places and positions and
you don’t even understand that is the reason you are still stuck! Because you
have refused to obey His command.
The LORD said to
Gideon that with the three hundred men
that lapped He will save Him but the others
should go home. The LORD shows you the people that should be removed from
your life through their actions-He speaks to you specifically-as He directed
Gideon-on who can advance with you and who cannot. The danger in not listening
is you will lose that battle because the LORD specifically told Gideon that with those three hundred he will be saved. He did not say with
those three hundred he might be saved. He said he will be saved. I emphasize the term will because
of its importance in this instruction. Some of you, the LORD has told you you must let certain people go and you
change the instruction to a more permissible format like you could let them go or if you want, you may let them go. And that
is not how this works. To win a battle you must be ready to sacrifice. And some
of you are not ready to sacrifice and that is the problem!
Listen to the
LORD’s instruction in 2016-it will bless and increase you-yes it is a purging
but it is also a rebirth-a transformation-into a much more mighty warrior-a
Gideon-that is ready to fight and win the battles the LORD takes you through.
This is why I emphasize the importance of
obeying the instruction. Let them go- whatever
He has spoken to you about to leave behind-leave
it. It is more than worth it-and blessings flow from obedience so don’t
withhold your blessings with stubborn disobedience.
God Bless and
Happy New Year!
